Crossroads Christian School places a great importance on academics. A

student’s academic performance must always come before his/her athletic performance. It is with that understanding that the following policy is implemented:

 

1.) Students participating in sports must maintain a “C” grade average.

 

2.) If a student does not maintain a “C” grade average on a Progress Report (mid-             quarter grade report), then he/she will be placed on athletic probation.

 

3.) Grades must be a “C” average on the Report Card (quarter grade report). If they are not, then the student will be placed on athletic suspension until the next Progress Report. At the Progress Report, if the student’s grades are at or above a “C” average, then he/she may resume participation.

 

4.) If the quarter reporting deadline falls within three weeks of the start of practice and the student’s grades are below a “C” average, then they will be placed on athletic probation. If grades are at a “C” average at the next Progress Report, then the student will be taken off academic probation. If not, then the student will automatically be placed on athletic suspension.

 

 

Athletic Suspension: Athletic suspension is the suspension of all athletic privileges including participating in and attending practices and games. If a student is placed on athletic suspension, they are not to attend a game unless a parent is present. If the student attends a game without their parent, he/she will be sent to the After School Academy and the parent will be billed appropriately.

 

Athletic Probation: The athlete is allowed to go to practice and play in games; but this privilege is at the teacher’s discretion, and it is with the understanding that the student’s grades need to improve to continue participation.

 

The teacher and coach may agree to an alternate deadline for improvement of grades.
